The 2nd International Workshop on the Validation of
Satellite-based Land Surface Phenology Products

University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee School of Continuing Education
Conference Center, 14 September 2012

This LPV one-day workshop is being held in conjunction with, and is also sponsored by, the Phenology 2012 conference at the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, USA, 10-13 September 2012.

Objective

To bring together the Land Product Validation Phenology community to revisit, assess and build upon the goals set forth at the Dublin 2010 LPV Phenology workshop. Objectives include selection of core sites and review of the available current remote sensing data products and in situ level observations. We will continue the discussion on how to proceed with an internationally-coordinated validation and inter-comparison activity for current satellite phenology products. In addition, we will use this forum to further the development of an international Phenology Land Product Validation protocol through the initiation of a set of Pilot Projects.
